CropScan 3000H

The CropScan 3000H on-combine analyzer is a powerful Near Infrared Transmission spectrometer capable of measuring protein, oil and moisture in cereal grains and oil seeds as they are removed by the combine.

The CropScan 3000H on-combine analyzer is a powerful Near Infrared Transmission spectrometer capable of measuring protein, oil and moisture in cereal grains and oil seeds as they are removed by the combine. The CropScan 3000H measures grains as they are sampled off the clean grain elevator. Grain drops into the Remote Sampling Head where it is trapped for a few seconds while light is passed through the sample. A fiber optic cable collects the transmitted light and sends it to the NIR spectrometer located inside the cab. A Touch Screen PC, which is mounted inside the cabin, controls the system and displays the protein, oil and moisture data in real time.

Benefits to Owning Your Own Base Station

It’s well known that RTK provides the highest level of accuracy for both horizontal and vertical positioning. Farming with RTK accuracy will maximize efficiency and reduce operator fatigue.

Owning your own base station means you won’t pay any subscription fees, and puts you in total control. RTK accuracy is reduced the further you are from the base station, so by owning your own base you can install it at the optimum location to service your farm.

For everyday farming operations, most Manitoba growers decide to install their base station at a permanent, or semi-permanent location, usually on their farm yard or at a location that will cover the entire farm. Then they simply power-up their equipment, and after a few seconds, are ready to farm with RTK accuracy.

If you are also implementing water management then you can continue to work off of your fixed base station, or you may decide to move it to the field you are working on. Typically, growers implementing surface drainage report excellent performance without relocating the base. For tile drainage however we’d always recommend you keep the base within half a mile for absolute maximum accuracy.
